Constance Rush was born in New York City and completed her formal education of art in Vermont and Maine. She is an accomplished sculptor who has lived, worked, and maintained a studio in Portland, Maine for the past 30 years. Her sculptures are carved primarily from the natural stone of the New England region.  Extensive travel to Egypt, Greece, and various other countries has provided Ms. Rush with knowledge and vision that has strongly influenced her work.

Constance has been invited into numerous prestigious galleries, and has been granted several commissions and awards including The Maine Percent for Art Project and the Certificate of Excellence for Outstanding Achievement in Sculpture from a New York International Art Competition.

Today, Constance Rush’s elegant iconic sculptures continue to utilize myth and metaphoric language in relationship to form. Constance invites the observer to enter the ‘spaces’ of her carvings, so they may experience the symbolic pathways of their own lives.
